Alternatively you can contact our City Works department using the contact details on the right of this page. Bus SheltersThere are 3 types of bus shelter in Oxford. Some belong to the City Council, some to Oxfordshire County County and the newest shelters are installed by a specialist contractor who also has responsibility for cleaning and maintaining their own bus shelters. To report a problem or issue with any bus shelter in the city, please contact us with an accurate description of the bus shelter location and preferably take a note of the number displayed on the newer bus shelters. Street LightingOxfordshire County Council is responsible for street lighting in the city. Visit the Street Lighting pages of their website for more information and to report a fault. LifebeltsTo report a damaged or missing lifebelt in Oxford, please contact us using the details on the right of this page. We provide and maintain lifebelts next to rivers and waterways in Oxford. Some lifebelts are owned by the Environment Agency and others by boatyards. The City Council has 100 lifebelt stations along the River Thames and other public waterside locations, which are labelled with an identifying number and phone number. Lifebelts are inspected once every 2 weeks in the summer and once every 4 weeks in the winter. We work hard to ensure that should you ever need to use one, a lifebelt is available and in the best condition. Road SignsOxfordshire County Council is responsible for road signs in Oxford. Visit the Signs pages of their website for full details. Street Name PlatesOxford City Council is responsible for the maintenance and replacement of street name plates in Oxford. If you wish to report a damaged or missing street name plate, please contact us. BenchesAll benches on the highway are installed and maintained by Oxford City Council. To report vandalism or other problems, please contact us. Finger PostsFinger Post signage is maintained by the City Council. Problems and issues are generally resolved within 3 months of a report.
