We have recently converted all houses in Oxford onto alternate weekly collection. We are starting to convert all flats onto the same scheme. So far we have converted 40% of the city's 1400 flat sites.
Recycling at flats will operate a little differently form the household scheme. Each flat site is different and so must be treated individually.
We have surveyed all the flat sites in the city in order to find ways to convert each site onto the new recycling scheme. Before any containers are delivered we will consult flat management agents. They will need to agree to the changes and the terms and conditions of use of the containers.

In order to be put on the scheme you must be able to store 14 days worth of refuse. This is because the same lorry is used to collect refuse one week and recycling the next.
To begin conversion your management team must contact us to arrange an onsite meeting. We will then assess whether the site has enough room for rubbish bins. The management company will then have to agree to our terms and conditions. Requirements include not contaminating bins by putting the wrong items in the wrong bins.

For large blocks of flats you will get, a green wheelie bin for waste, a blue wheelie bin for co-mingled recycling and a green wheelie bin for glass.
