Welcome to Oxford

Safer Food Better Business (SFBB)

Oxford City Council has successfully bid for a grant from the Food Standards Agency to help small catering businesses in the City comply with new European Hygiene Regulations. There is now a new requirement  in the law to have a fully documented food safety management system.

What is Safer Food Better Business?

It is a food safety management pack which provides businesses with a documented system for managing food safety. This is a new approach which offers simple, easy to use practical guidance. Using the pack will help you to:-

  • comply with the new regulations
  • show what you do to make food safely
  • train staff
  • protect your businesses reputation

What does the Safer Food Better Business Pack contain?

The pack contains safe methods sheets on:

  • cross contamination
  • cleaning
  • chilling
  • cooking
  • management
  • daily diary for completion by the Manager/owner.

How can we help you to comply?

Oxford City Council are offering free half day training sessions. At the workshop you will be given your free safer Food Better Business manual and you will be shown how to use it.

This will be followed by a coaching visit from one of our consultants to see how you are implementing the pack and to give you further advice.
