Sustainable Buildings Award

What is the David Steel Sustainable Buildings Award?

The David Steel Sustainable Buildings Award from Oxford City Council aims to recognise leading sustainable building developments in Oxford.

This award is nominated in memory of our dear colleague David Steel, who made a valuable contribution to the City Council and the Climate Change Action Team.

Developments are assessed on the level and quality of the environmentally friendly solutions incorporated.

The judging panel includes Councillors, and experts from the City Council.

How do I nominate a development for the 2008 award?

Nominations for the 2008 award are now closed. The winner will be announced soon.

What is the City Council expecting from candidates?

We want to encourage higher standards of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy in developments. We are aiming to achieve this through the implementation of planning policies, including the Natural Resources Impact Analysis Supplementary Planning Document
