Council Housing

We have to show the costs of running our 8,000 Council houses in a separate account called the Housing Revenue Account (HRA):

We must make sure this account is in balance. We are not allowed to subsidise Council housing from general taxes or to collect a profit from tenants.

We are budgeting to collect £28.8 million in rents in the current year (some of which is paid by housing benefits). We aim to spend £7.4 million in repairs and general maintenance and 7.8 million in general management.
