This page tells you about the Oxford City Council elections to be held on 1 May 2008.

Oxford City Council Elections 2008

Elections were held for Oxford City Council across the city on Thursday 1 May 2008.

In Oxford we now have 24 wards, each having two councillors. This year each ward elected one of those councillors.

Parish elections 2008

The parishes in Oxford have undergone a review. This means that two of the four parishes in Oxford had to hold elections on new boundaries. These fresh elections took place this year. As the number of candidates put forward in each parish ward did not exceed the total number of vacancies, all the candidates were elected unopposed.
