Asset Management
Our Asset Management department deals with land and premises we own that are not used for residential housing. For example:
- the letting of premises for city centre shops
- suburban housing estate shops
- the valuations of 'right to buy' council properties
Our Housing Services department deal with queries relating to residential housing let on weekly tenancies.
Our Asset Management section is divided into two teams:
- Strategy and Property Records.
- Estate Management teams.
Strategy and property records are responsible for:
- strategic management of the Council's non-Housing Revenue Account (HRA) properties
- maintenance of the property asset register
- maintenance of the Council's property database (which is called Terrier)
Estates management teams are responsible for:
- the purchase, sale and leasing of property
- estate management and maintenance of non-HRA Council land and premises
- valuations
- house sales under the 'Right to Buy' scheme
- easements and wayleaves
- trespassing by travellers and squatters
