Oxford City Council
Engagement ProjectWhat is the project?A brand new project has just begun in Oxford, supported by Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City Council, and we are looking for people from black and minority ethnic communities to take part. You have the chance to find out how to access local government and influence the services on offer to meet the constantly changing needs of communities. You will find out how you can make local government work for you and your community. Training sessions may cover topics such as:
This project is about you and your development and we will provide continuous support before and after the training process. No previous experience or training is required- Just the desire and time to make the difference for your local community. How can I get involved?Free training sessions will start on Monday 29th October and will continue for five consecutive weeks. Topics covered will include: the local authorities and other service providers, local planning, and budgets. There will be opportunities throughout to meet officers from the local authorities and other service providers and to develop your own skills to pass on your knowledge to others within your community. Please be aware that the places on the course are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Call us now to register your interest. What will be the outcome of the meetings?Out of these meetings we are hoping to create a black and minority ethnic network who meet regularly. But the end product will be influenced by what you want.
