Cowley Community Plan

What is the project?

People living and working in Cowley have the chance to look with 'fresh eyes' at the area and contribute to the development of a community action plan. The plan will identify the issues that matter to local people and the improvements and actions needed.

The community plan will:

• show what local people think the priorities for change and improvement are 
• set out a vision of how the community wants to develop in the short, medium and long term
• identify the action needed to reach these goals

Getting Involved

Members of the community can take on some of the actions in the plan; others may need the help and support of partners such as:

• Oxford City Council
• Oxfordshire County Council
• local businesses
• voluntary organisations

We are looking for volunteer help from anyone or any local group to:

• Get involved - from spending a few hours on one particular task to being part of a work group
• Open doors to existing local groups and organisations
• Provide local community knowledge on one particular or on a number of issues - from green issues to housing

It is important to involve as many people and organisations as possible in the Cowley Community Plan. A range of individuals and organisations are already involved in steering the project forward.

• John Bunyan Baptist Church and Ark T Centre
• St Christopher's Primary School

Cowley Online Neighbourhood Discussion Forum

The project group is currently working on setting up an online discussion forum for Cowley. The forum will provide the opportunity for members to discuss issues of interest in the area, online. Forums already exist in the Central, South and West and Headington and Marston areas. Visit our Online Discussion Forums page for further details about these forums.

To get a forum up and running in Cowley, we need as many people as possible to sign up to join. If you are interested in taking part, please contact us using the details on the right of this page.
