What are skills levels like in Oxford?

Oxford is, in general, a well-educated city with 33% of the population qualified to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent compared to a GB average of 29%.  However there are very high levels of people without qualifications in some areas - see the following map:

What is educational attainment like in Oxford?

In 2006, 45.8% of Oxford pupils gained 5 A*-C grades at GCSE, compared to an Oxfordshire average of 56.6%.  There is also a higher rate of children leaving school with no qualifications.

How many students are there in Oxford?

According to the Census, 26% of the working age population is a student - the highest proportion in England and Wales.  Statistics show that in 2005/06 there were over 30,000 full-time students studying at Oxford University and Oxford Brookes University.
