Accessibility in Oxford

In this section you will find useful information about how accessible Oxford is, including where to find an accessible toilet and local accessible parking.

Does the Council produce any information books on accessibility?

We produce a handy guide which contains information on the accessibility of Oxford. This guide is available from the Oxford Information Centre or the Access Officer. Inclusion in this guide is not a recommendation by us.

You can also see the sections of this guide selecting the from the links towards the bottom of this page.  

We try to keep the information up-to-date but if you find an entry has changed please let the Access Officer know using the contact details on the right of the page.

Oxfordshire County Council also produce a Blue Badge Parking map of the City. This can be obtained from our Shopmobility Unit or from Ramsay House in St Ebbes. Visit our Blue Badge Parking page for details of the scheme and a map of Blue Badge parking spaces in Oxford city centre.

There is also a dropped kerb map available from our Shopmobility unit in the Westgate Car Park.

Is the Countryside accessible?

Oxfordshire County Council produce downloadable information leaflets for 11 attractive routes across Oxfordshire providing accessibility information about parking, slopes and surfaces.

How do I find out about accessibility of local transport?

Where can I purchase mobility aids?

Our Shopmobility Service in Oxford sells mobility aids to the public. Small aids can be purchased immediately if in stock and other items can be ordered.

Shopmobility is based in level 1 of the Westgate Car Park immediately next to the Car Park Office.   The service is open from 9.00 - 4.30 Monday - Friday and 9.30 - 4.00 on Saturdays.  The service is closed on Bank Holidays.
