Year of the Goat 2015 Chinese New Year Gala Concert
The traditional celebration of Chinese New Year starts from a dazzling gathering at the Oxford Town Hall. Highlighting the finest winter spirits, OXCSSA presents the one in a lifetime chance to celebrate the most significant event on the Chinese Lunar calendar here in Oxford.
This event consists of several of the best Chinese traditional folk dance and musical entertainments, popular Mandarin Pop songs, and amusing cross talks performed by students from the university. Most importantly, they proudly present Mr. Zhang Jinlai, better known by his stage name Liu Xiao Ling Tong, the actor of the Monkey King in the most celebrated Chinese novel Journey to the West. Enjoy the blissful coming of the Year of the Goat with friends, for an unparallel experience to witness and join this festive vitality when the world’s most prestigious academy ravishingly fuses with oriental glamour.
Featuring the South Wales Male Choir, the Oxfordshire Welsh Society will presenting a Gala Charity Concert celebrating St David.
With star guests, Rhys Meirion and Llio Evans, the concert will take place in our beautiful Main Hall and will be supported by the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.
