How to apply for Building Regulations Approval

There are two methods of applying for Building Regulations Approval, a 'Full Plans' submission, or a 'Building Notice'.

Unfortunately online submission of applications is unavailable as maintenance is being carried out on our system.

Site Inspection of Work

Whether you use the Full Plans or Building Notice method, you are required to notify the Council office at certain stages of the construction. An 'Information Note' is sent to you with your Plan Approval Notice. We will endeavour to carry out same-day inspections if we are notified before 10am.

Fee Charges

The Building (Local Authority Charges) Regulations 2010 require Local Authorities to set fees payable for their Building Regulation Function. These fees cover any necessary consultations, the checking of plans, all site inspections and the associated administration work.
