The Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor Elise Benjamin, who will officially be opening the Oxford Work Club, says: "I’m delighted to open the Oxford Work Club.
"This new initiative brings together the skills of key local partners in the city and is a great example of the sort of partnership working we need to help support local people looking for work."
Councillor Bob Price, Leader of Oxford City Council says: "The new Work Club follows on from the successful Youth Job Fair we held in August.
"It offers a great new opportunity for anyone needing help looking for their first job, returning to work or seeking a new work challenge.
"I hope it helps to kick start some great new careers for local people."
Diane McKenna-Rhead, Oxford Jobcentre Plus, says: “The launch of this new Work Club will give jobseekers in Oxford extra advice and support in a social and friendly environment.
"People will have the chance to build new contacts, swap ideas on job hunting and get expert advice from guest speakers about opportunities in the area."
Oxford Town Hall hosted a Youth Job Fair in August which was organised by students from Oxford Cherwell & Valley College.
The Youth Job Fair gave young people leaving school, college or university, and others looking for employment in Oxfordshire, the chance to meet employers offering vacancies for entry level roles and also some great apprenticeship opportunities.
Help and advice was also available for writing CVs and brushing up on interview techniques.
