Oxford City Council's Tenants and Leaseholders can find out more about housing services and have their say on how they want to get more involved at a series of roadshow events, starting this Thursday.
Taking place at five locations across the city, the roadshows aim to find out more about what services are available to tenants and leaseholders and how services might be improved in the future.
The first roadshow takes place from 2pm until 6pm on Thursday 17 November at the recently refurbished Wood Farm Children’s Centre, Titup Hall Drive. The event will give residents the opportunity to meet the teams that work to improve their homes and communities; including Communities and Neighbourhoods, Housing Needs, Community Safety and Direct Services.
Residents will also have the chance to raise any issues or feedback at a helpdesk.
The events combine a community fair type feel with a family fun day; including tea, coffee and cakes, fun craft activities and a fully equipped youth bus, complete with video games, film and DJ equipment and a chill out area.
There are also prizes up for grabs at each event; including free gym membership, high street vouchers and seasonal hampers.
Councillor Joe McManners, Board Member for Housing Needs and Ward Councillor for Churchill Ward, says: “We’re really looking forward to the roadshows as they give us the chance to base ourselves in local communities and speak to people about how they want to get more involved.
“We have some excellent teams who work hard to deliver the best possible service to our residents, but we want to find out what we can do to make this even better for you. So please come along to your local roadshow and tell us what you think.”
