The Oxford Home Improvement Agency is a service which offers invaluable support to residents within Oxford City. Our purpose is to help occupiers remain safe, secure, independent and warm in their own homes.
The agency service is available to people aged 60 and over, or person(s) on a low income, suffering from a long term health condition or a disability and who are vulnerable and need help repairing, maintaining or adapting their home. The type of assistance we offer are:

Disabled Facilities Grants
This is a means tested mandatory grant, the current maximum grant
available is £30,000. A Disabled Facilities Grant provides adaptations
to the property to help the eligible disabled person(s) function in and around the home.
To apply for a Disabled Facilities Grant you must
first be assessed by an Occupational Therapist.

Essential Repair Grants
This is a means tested discretionary grant for home owners. An Essential
Repairs Grant of up to £5,000 is available to assist with essential
repairs to the home.

Flexible Home Loans
This is a loan scheme for owner/occupiers aged 55 and over designed to
help with work to improve the comfort, safety, security and repairs to
your home. This is a Government supported loan to assist clients in
releasing some of the equity in their property to enable these
improvements.

Small Repairs Service
This service is available to owner/occupiers and tenants who are aged 60
and over, suffering from a long term health condition and who are
disabled. This service covers small plumbing, electrical and basic house
hold repairs. The labour charge is £15 + VAT plus the cost of any
materials used.
