Flytipped items may include furniture, fridges, freezers, cookers, builders rubble, carpeting, shopping trolleys and any other items of refuse. They may also include chemicals or other polluting materials which are potentially harmful to our environment and waterways.

Oxford City Council and the Environment Agency have the power to prosecute anyone found to be flytipping materials under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. We take flytipping very seriously and investigate every case where there is appropriate evidence to prosecute the offender.

To help prevent flytipping in the city, we offer a free bulky waste collection service to all households. We would encourage residents to use this service to dispose of large items such as fridges, sofas, and mattresses. Residents should contact our Recycling team on 01865 249811. If residents have larger amounts of waste or materials that we don't normally collect, such as builders rubble, they should take them to Redbridge Recycling Centre, just off Abingdon Road.
