Oxford City Council's Culture & Events Team both delivers events and manages event on Oxford City Council land

Key events the City Council delivers annually are:

  • Dancin' Oxford Festival (Spring / Summer / Autumn
  • May Morning (1 May)
  • Lord Mayor's Celebration (May/June)
  • Christmas Light Festival (November)
  • St Giles Funfair (September)

In addition to delivering the above events, the Events Team manages and co-ordinates all events held on Oxford City Council land and all major events on non-City Council land such as on the public highway

World Vision Fundraising Display

Step into Africa is an interactive display of 2 x 5m replica African huts joined by a 2 metre tunnel. The public are invited to “Step into Africa” and experience what life is like in a standard African hut in somewhere like Sierra Leonne. As they walk from the basic hut into the second hut they are shown the difference that World Vision make as they see beds, mosquito nets, cooking facilities (replica), school books etc.

The Christmas Market consists of about 45-50 festive decorated stalls offering Christmas gifts and seasonal food and drink. A carousel and possibly Father Christmas Grotto to entertain the children. Local choirs and bands will add to the festive atmosphere.
