Tackle climate change and promote environmental resource management
Carbon Management Strategy

Waste Management Strategy
As a county, Oxfordshire has to reduce landfill by 60% over the next 13 years or face penalties of £150 per tonne. The Oxfordshire Waste Partnership (OWP) has agreed a joint waste strategy to achieve this aim.
The main commitments of the strategy are:
- A fortnightly collection of residual waste (refuse)
- Dry recyclables collections
- A garden waste collection, either free or on a paid for basis
- A food waste collection (dependent on available treatment infrastructure)
- Increased recyclable materials streams at Waste Recycling Centres
The OWP consists of Oxford City Council, Vale of White District Council, West Oxfordshire District Council, Cherwell District Council, South Oxfordshire District Council and Oxfordshire County Council.
