North East Area Committee

This Area Committee covers the wards Marston, Headington Hill and Northway, Headington, Barton and Sandhills, Quarry and Risinghurst and Churchill.

You can find the dates, times and locations of Area Committee meetings on our Council Meetings pages. These are public meetings and you are welcome to come along. Each Area Committee has an open session that allows you to have your say.

The North East Area Committee are currently putting together the Area Plan, which will summarise the priorities over the coming three years. This is expected to be completed in Autumn 2009.

There is also a non voting membership of the Committee made up of:

• Parish Councillor P Phipps, Risinghurst and Sandhills Parish Council (Deputy Representative Councillor L Foster-Barnes)

Area Profile

Almost 25% of Oxford's population live in the North East area (34,554 people).

The area is predominantly residential, but also houses a number of large health and educational organisations, including Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust which includes the John Radcliffe Hospital and the Churchill Hospital, Manor Hospital, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and three Oxford Brookes campuses.

The area is notable for the large number of active Tenants', Residents' and Community Associations.
