What we do for our communities
The Community Response Team was launched in April 2011. The Community Warden's focus is to provide a city-wide rapid response investigative service that tackles different categories of anti-social behaviour. The Team does this through:
- Environmental Visual Audits; and
- Rapid response to reported incidents of anti-social behaviour
Through our excellence in customer service we will help break the cycle of deprivation by reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, improve the feeling of safety in our communities and help create cleaner, greener, safer environments for all people that live, work or visit our city.
We achieve this through:
- Reducing crime and anti-social behaviour by patrolling areas of greatest need, gathering evidence and providing crime reduction support and advice;
- Tackling environmental concerns such as litter and flyposting;
- Supporting social cohesion and public engagement by taking an active part in the lives of our diverse communities.
Community Wardens will carry out their duties:
- By treating everyone fairly, regardless of ethnic origin, religious belief, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or social background;
- By using integrity, common sense, tact and sound judgement, in ways which reflect local priorities and are acceptable to residents and partners;
- By empowering individuals and communities
- By adhering to the Community Wardens' Customer Care Charter.
