The Place Survey provides information on peoples' perceptions of their local area and the local services they receive.
The Place Survey 2008-09 Report for Oxford can be downloaded below. Surveys were sent to a random sample of households across the city and a total of 1,411 surveys were returned:

Ipsos MORI have also produced a report on Frontiers of Performance in Local Government. This report makes sense of trends in people's perceptions of their local area and also looks in more detail at what drives these perceptions of place.
By analysing the relationship between individuals' perceptions of their area and contextual factors such as demographic patterns, levels of deprivation and ethnic diversity, this report provides a valuable framework within which to understand perception and performance data.
